Scope
A century has passed since crystal structure was revealed by X-rays. The initial progress has been achieved by Dr. Max von Laue, Dr. William Lawrence Bragg, Dr. William Henry Bragg , and Dr. Torahiko Terada. Crystallography has become the one of important areas in material science and engineering and crysttalographic analysis was utilized for the design of various functional soft and hard materials. Advanced and sophisticated crystallography now provide not only an accurate structure of the long-range order of crystals but also atomic structure in nano- & meso regions, which is often crucial to reveal functions. This symposium will cover broadly on crystallography in material science and engineering for the various functional materials. Discussions in the symposium allow us to understand the current status and future directions of crystallography.
