Scope
Structures and functions in biological tissues such as bone and teeth as hard ones, and cartilage, ligament, tendon and skin as soft ones adapt to mechanical loading and/or rubbing actions. Biomedical implants and devices for these tissues are operating under similar mechanical conditions. In this symposium, the various researches in biomechanics and biotribology for biological tissues and biomedical devices will be reported and discussed. Biomechanical and biotribological aspects for articular/regenerated cartilage, artificial cartilage and artificial joint materials will be specially focused.
Topics
- Biological Tissues in Biomechanics and Biotribology
- Biomedical Devices in Biomechanics and Biotribology
- Articular Cartilage and Regenerated Cartilage
